Ten Red Dot Awards for Peter Schmidt Group projects

Winning ten awards at the Red Dot Award Communication Design 2026, the Peter Schmidt Group has exceeded last year’s record performance. Three of these prestigious accolades were awarded to the BARMER brand identity created by the agency.

The Red Dot Award Communication Design is among the world’s most prestigious design competitions. Its jury awards are highly regarded not only within the agency sector, but also across industry and among consumers as recognized markers of design excellence. This year, the jury honored Peter Schmidt Group projects with ten awards in total. By surpassing its record result from the previous year, the agency once again demonstrates its ability to create outstanding creative solutions across a wide range of disciplines and industries.

Most successful project was the new brand identity for BARMER health insurance. Spanning every element of the brand experience – from the logo and color palette to motion principles, a modular brand sound system, and the new corporate font, “BARMER Beat” – the identity presents a health insurance that is approachable, human-centered, and digitally minded. The project received awards not only in the categories of Corporate Design Relaunch and Brand Design, but also in Type Design.

Successful consumer branding projects

Peter Schmidt Group also demonstrated its strength in consumer branding, with four award-winning projects in this sector. Two awards recognized the brand relaunch and packaging design of the coffee brand Bellissimo, while another honored the redesigned “Signature” premium range from Delta Cafés.

The jury also honored the new look of the shower gel brand Cliff. For this project, the agency translated the values of the iconic 1990s brand into a contemporary vision of modern masculinity. The designers carefully refined the brand’s core assets – the wordmark and the iconic cliff diver – while preserving their distinctive character. A deep, dark blue combined with vibrant accent colors defines the visual palette, creating a dynamic and highly distinctive look that extends consistently across brand design, communications, and packaging. “With Cliff, we are consistently shifting the narrative from self-display to self-reflection, from adrenaline to regeneration,” explains Inga Wolter, Executive Creative Director at Peter Schmidt Group. “We are building on the aura that has always defined the brand, while placing it in a new context. This gives Cliff renewed relevance and enables it to engage entirely new audiences who have no prior connection to it.”

Lukas Cottrell, CEO of Peter Schmidt Group: “We don't think about consumer brands through the lens of packaging alone – we think about them holistically. It's not just about standing out on the shelf; brands need to be present in their audiences' everyday lives and hold real meaning.”

Motion Design of Deutsche Telekom wins over the jury

Further award-winning projects showcase the full breadth of Peter Schmidt Group’s portfolio: The personal branding developed for acclaimed chef Kiko Martins is a nuanced, typography-driven identity that invites audiences on a culinary journey of discovery. Meanwhile, the posters created for the “Future Playgrounds” design conference demonstrate how neon screen printing and unbridled creativity can transform event posters into works of art.

The “Magnetic Motion Idents” developed for Deutsche Telekom’s streaming platform MagentaTV point to the evolving challenges of contemporary brand management. These seven-second trailers, rich in storytelling, are built on Deutsche Telekom’s new motion identity, created by the agency. They demonstrate how iconic brands can be continuously evolved and kept relevant over time. “Our ambition is to shape brands into living systems that create momentum in the market through continuous updates and releases,” says Lukas Cottrell, CEO of Peter Schmidt Group. “Telekom is the best example of how brand-building today no longer depends on the carefully planned, large-scale relaunch. Instead, it requires agile processes that respond immediately to communications opportunities and technological developments. Such a BrandOS – an operating system for brand management – also redefines the relationship between people and machines. It prepares companies for the age of artificial intelligence.”

With ten Red Dot Awards, Peter Schmidt Group continues its winning streak at international creative competitions. The agency also collected seven awards at Portugal’s M&P Design Awards – all for Bellissimo Cafés. Additional accolades include “Best of Best” and Gold at the German Brand Award for AUMOVIO, two Nails at ADC Germany for the Weleda brand relaunch, five iF DESIGN Awards, and – both for Kiko Martins – a Pencil at D&AD and Gold at the FAB Awards.
