Nine Red Dot Awards for Peter Schmidt Group Projects
The Peter Schmidt Group has won nine times at the Red Dot Award Communication Design 2025 – a record result for the agency. Alongside eight awards – including for the corporate designs of E.ON, Weleda, and Bechtle – the campaign “The Revived” received special recognition: The jury honored it with the coveted “Best of the Best” label.

The Red Dot Award Communication Design is one of the world’s most prestigious creative competitions, with recognition reaching far beyond the agency sector: In both industry and among end consumers, the accolades of the international expert jury are valued as a mark of design excellence. With eight Red Dot Awards and one “Red Dot Best of the Best,” the Peter Schmidt Group achieved its best-ever result in this year’s competition.
A standout among the wins: the awareness and activation campaign “The Revived,” realized by the Peter Schmidt Group together with its partner agencies from TEAMBBDO. Timed to coincide with the opening of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, the campaign used artificial intelligence to digitally bring back to life Ukrainian athletes who had fallen in the war. Extensive media coverage reached audiences across the globe and inspired them to donate. The campaign was created in close collaboration with the families concerned, and impresses not only with its technical execution and storytelling, but also with striking physical objects and subtle branding that references Ukrainian culture. More than enough reasons for the Red Dot jury to award “The Revived” a “Best of the Best” – recognizing it as a benchmark-setting work in its category.
”Even with artificial intelligence, creation is only good if it is driven by a moving idea – and The Revived set new standards in 2024 as one of the first AI campaigns," said Lukas Cottrell, CEO of the Peter Schmidt Group. "The decisive factor in the campaign’s success is not just the use of pioneering technical tools, but a team of designers passionately working on their vision.”
E.ON and Weleda: Leading iconic brands into the future
Four Red Dots went to branding projects by the Peter Schmidt Group: the new brand identities for energy provider E.ON, IT system house Bechtle, bike brand Pegasus, and natural cosmetics pioneer Weleda. For the first time in its more than 100-year history, Weleda decided to update its iconic wordmark – and choosing the Peter Schmidt Group as its agency partner was no coincidence, says Lukas Cottrell: “Few agencies understand how to lead iconic brands into the future as we do. Our goal is to treat decades of accumulated brand equity with respect, distil it, and in doing so, strengthen it for the future. All our award-winning projects tell this story – but especially Weleda: touching the typography by Rudolf Steiner is not a task entrusted to just anyone. That Weleda placed their trust in us is a great honor.”
Creative excellence across disciplines
The breadth of the Peter Schmidt Group’s portfolio is reflected in four further award-winning projects: the new headline font for E.ON in the typography category, the illustrations for Delta Cafés, the packaging design for the “Hope Bear” by Sandy Hook Promise, and the large-format mixed-media brand book for Bechtle.
This continues the Peter Schmidt Group’s creative success in the summer of 2025: earlier, at the 2025 CDP (Corporate Design Prize) – the only competition in Germany dedicated exclusively to brand identities – the agency won six awards. The work for E.ON, Bechtle, and Weleda, as well as “The Revived,” had already impressed the judges there.
